The Local Area & Places to eat

Loch Leven Heritage Trail

Not to be missed by cyclists and walkers alike is Loch Leven Heritage Trail, a 13 mile traffic-free gravel track around Loch Leven.  Scenery along this route is rich and very varied, changing from open farmland away from the loch to forested areas at the loch side, even a small beach. There are several places to stop for a coffee and cake, or pack a picnic and take advantage of one of the many benches along the route to admire the view while eating your sandwiches. Then enjoy the unique short boat trip to historic Lochleven Castle, located on an island on the loch. A perfect day out!

Michael Bruce Way

Walkers can enjoy Michael Bruce Way, a fully sign posted circular route boasting spectacular views of Loch Leven and the surrounding hills, following pathways through woodland, farmland and village landscapes. With ample parking at the start of the trail, and just a mile from the pods, this walk is highly recommended as a great day out.
